Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Counselor, specializing in Couples and Family Therapy,  to join our mental health practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in relationship dynamics, systems theory, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support couples and families in achieving healthier communication, resolving conflict, and strengthening emotional bonds. This position requires empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a deep understanding of interpersonal relationships within a family context.



Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual, couple, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic methods (e.g., EFT, Gottman Method, CBT, PACT, Systemic Therapy).

Assess client needs, develop treatment plans, and track progress toward goals.

Facilitate healthy communication and conflict resolution strategies.

Work with clients experiencing marital challenges, parenting issues, divorce, blended family dynamics, and intergenerational conflict.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

Collaborate with other healthcare providers, when necessary, to support holistic care.

Participate in clinical supervision and continuing education to stay current with best practices.



Qualifications:

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or related field

Current state licensure (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPC, or equivalent)

Minimum of 2 years experience providing therapy to couples and families

Training or certification in couples/family therapy modalities preferred (e.g., Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy)

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish trust with clients

Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality



Preferred Skills:

Experience with diverse populations and cultural competence

Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus

Knowledge of telehealth platforms and virtual counseling practices

Crisis intervention and trauma-informed care experience
