Job Title: Trauma Counselor / (Trauma Specialist)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, licensed mental health professional with expertise in trauma-focused therapy to join our team. The Counselor will provide primarily individual counseling to clients, with the option to also provide group counseling. The Counselor will work with clients who have experienced psychological trauma, including but not limited to abuse, neglect, violence, accidents, or traumatic loss/grief. This role requires clinical experience in evidence-based trauma treatment and a strong commitment to client-centered, culturally competent care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients with trauma-related disorders.
Provide trauma-informed counseling using evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, TF-CBT, CPT, PE, IFS, and/or Somatic Experiencing.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to support treatment goals.
Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development related to trauma and mental health.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Current state licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience working with trauma survivors.
Specialized training and certification in one or more trauma-focused treatment modalities preferred (e.g., EMDR, TF-CBT, CPT, PE).
Strong understanding of trauma’s impact on mental health and functioning.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Commitment to ethical, client-centered, and culturally responsive practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Experience working with specific populations (e.g., veterans, children, domestic violence survivors) is desirable.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
