Job Title: Adolescent Counselor

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Adolescent Counselor to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the emotional, psychological, and developmental needs of adolescents and a strong commitment to supporting their well-being. The counselor will provide individual counseling and will have the opportunities to provide groups should they wish to do so. The Adolescent Counselor will also provide crisis intervention, and collaborate with families, schools, and other care providers to create supportive environments for adolescent growth and healing.



Key Responsibilities:

Provide counseling services primarily to adolescents (ages 12–17).

Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

Address issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, trauma, substance use, peer relationships, and identity development.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, school counselors, and other professionals to support the adolescent's treatment plan.

Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.

Participate in case reviews, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Uphold confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.



Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Current licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents in a clinical setting.

Strong understanding of adolescent development and evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, activity therapy, expressive arts, trauma-informed care).

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse youth populations.



Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual

Experience in school-based or community mental health settings.

Knowledge of local resources and support services for youth and families.
