Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced counselor to provide specialized mental health services to individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across the lifespan. The ideal candidate will be adept in developmentally appropriate, evidence-based interventions and possess a deep understanding of neurodiversity, behavioral support strategies, and family systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for ADHD and ASD across developmental stages.
Provide individual, group, and family counseling tailored to the needs of neurodiverse clients.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, social skills training, executive functioning coaching, etc.).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, medical providers, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.
Offer psychoeducation to clients and families on neurodiversity, coping strategies, and self-advocacy skills.
Support clients through life transitions (e.g., school changes, employment, independent living).
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with clinical and ethical standards.
Engage in ongoing professional development and stay informed on current research in ADHD, ASD, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related mental health field.
Current state licensure or eligibility (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with ADHD and/or ASD populations.
Proficiency in developmental and lifespan approaches to therapy.
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or formal training in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and/or neurodiversity-affirming practices.
Experience in both pediatric and adult mental health settings.
Familiarity with co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, or learning disabilities.
Culturally responsive care and trauma-informed therapy training.
